I confronted some racist comments she made about the murder of George Floyd and white privilege, and she moved THE EXACT SAME WAY (plus she started crying because our conversation was "just, a lot"). Chile, bye forever. I agree with you that this election was definitely about white supremacy, no question.

Glad you got out of this friendship, but I do have to say that I agree with your male black friend who suggested talking politics upfront. It’s good advice. It’s uncomfortable but will save you a lot of stress down the road to know who you can and cannot be in friendship with.
Thanks - me too. This friendship as an example - even if I had talked politics early, I can almost say with certainty she would not have been forthcoming. Given that, I don't have faith that this advice guarantees you the truth, which is what I'd hoped my essay conveyed.
